Code Vein By Bandai Namco Successfully Takes Over The Popularity Of Dark Souls On Steam

Bandai Namco has recently come up with a brand new vampire-theme entry named Code Vein. Bandai Namco, which is the seventh-largest video game publishing company in the world by revenue, is not at all new in this souls-like genre. The company had previously published the Dark Souls series, which was developed by FromSoft. Well, the latest video game of Bandai Namco has shown more dominance on PC compared to the previous one, the Dark Souls series.

Since its launch last Friday, as many as 33,130 concurrent players have registered for this game. These staggering figures are only due to the game’s upper-rank position on the developer’s PC release.

Bandai Namco Code Vein popularity surpasses  that of the Dark Souls. ‘Prepare to Die’, which is the original edition of the game, has registered an all-time high of over 11,000 players. And, the ‘Remastered’ edition reached the mark of 24,505 players. Even if these numbers are added, it will only come closer to the popularity of the latest game.

‘Remastered’ received such a high number due to the discount offered by the publishers. Gamers having the original version of the game series were given the offer to avail discount up to 50% while purchasing it. This would result in the fact that most of the players who own this edition are the players who owned the original game, which would ultimately result in the overlapping of many figures.

Well, the forerunner of the Dark Souls game has performed quite well compared to its precursors. The second sequel has reached the count of over 79,000 players. And, the third sequel has registered over 129,000 players, making it the number one.

However, on Steam, another game is released by the same developer that is Dragon Ball FighterZ. And, at this moment, this one is performing better than Code Vein. According to the reports of SteamCharts, the game has registered concurrent players a bit over 44,000.

However, these figures cannot be taken to be exact but can be taken as good indicators of the sales and the overall popularity.
