Careful fans have noticed that Rhys Stronfork the voice actor was not Troy Baker. It was discussed on Twitter about it but later on, the answers bubbled to the surface. As VG247 asked about him not returning he went on saying that he wanted but because of the position of Gearbox on Screen Actors Guild, he could not which is also the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

In the US voice actors are represented by the union which assures that everyone gets fair treatment. This is very much contrary to what Randy Pitchford, the Chief of Gearbox tweeted in April when he was questioned about Baker turning it down.

 Troy Baker Did Not Return As Rhys In Borderlands 3. Baker’s side of the story is given in the same interview VG247. They came to him and said how did he want to do this. was the answer. Then the role to be done by him was made impossible. Money has got nothing to do with it. The way it is needed to be done is not followed by them. Baker said that he never said no to it.

Baker clarified that they were not interested to go for union and a non-union gig cannot be done. If a deal is not signed with union work cannot be allowed to accept for members of SAG-AFTRA. Despite loving the character very much, Baker had to say no to Rhys and go on for other things.

The mantle was picked up brilliantly by Ray Chasen in Final Fantasy 15 who was the voice actor in Noctis. The twist of personality is added in the character in spite of him not being a perfect match and in the main franchise, it is very much memorable. Nobody got any comment from Troy Baker’s side regarding the performance but many of them are expecting comments shortly.

Positive reviews have come from Borderlands 3 and although the fan’s love has been changed by the voice actor the character has not changed. The return of Rhys has been gleefully accepted by the players as the unknown has been ventured further.

The purchase of Borderlands 3 is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. From April 2020 you can buy the same on Steam although it is sold purely on PC in Epic Games store. The title is quite wonderful as it brings to the platter the things loved by fans that are there in the series along with hidden surprises that are there in every nook and corner.
