One of the main reasons I wanted to be self-employed is that I never wanted to be dependent on others. Now I am able to work whenever I want and wherever I am.“

Riccardo Lex is literally living in freedom. But there are a lot of people who dare not to quit their jobs to get self-employed. Is being self-employed always easy? Riccardo explains us his point of view.

Definitely not. Being self-employed means affording a living without a regular income. It depends on you if you are going to have enough money, or not. Each day you have to motivate yourself, otherwise, you are not earning money. No one else is going to motivate or stress you about it. Just you.“

The first step into independence is surely not always easy. I think that you need a lot of commitment. But we all know that success usually demands dedication. Riccardo Lex can tell you a thing or two about it.

You have to accept the fact that you are going to work for a few years like no one else would do. In the early days, I worked about 80 hours per week. No one else would ever do that. Some people are happy with their 9-5 jobs but that isn’t something for me. So I decided to bite the bullet and worked many hours that I can live a good life now.“

So why are some people deciding to take the plunge to get self-employed while others are fine with their 9-5 jobs? According to Riccardo, there’s a simple answer to this question:

I believe that people like me, who do not want to waste time working for someone else’s dreams are deciding to risk everything to get a life full of freedom.

I have never regretted my decision. I love being self-employed and working for no one else but for myself.“

I am pretty sure that there must be some tips on how to overcome the fear of starting your own business and to jump in at the deep end. Riccardo Lex is telling us his key to success:

If your dreams are big enough your fear won’t stop you from being successful. It’s all a matter of will.“
