After Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, the tale of another Maratha Warrior is all set to entertain the audience. In this film, ‘Taanaji- The Unsung Warrior’, Ajay Devgn played the character of Subedar Taanaji Malusare, who fought beside Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. Till now, not much is known about the movie, except the fact that Saif Ali Khan in the lead role.

Moviemaker Om Rout, who is directing the film has given all the Ajay Devgn fans and movie lovers a surprise New Year gift by disclosing the first look of Ajay Devgn as Taanaji from the film. In the poster, you will find him in Subedar outfit, he seems to be in a war zone with his sword in his hands and is half face covered. His face looks fierce and is loaded with anger.

After the release of Taanaji’s first look, Ajay Devgn tweeted that, Taanaji fought for his people, his soil, and his king Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Taanaji is a warrior who is known for the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670.  At Shivaji’s request, he promises to recapture the fortress of Kondana close to Pune. According to legend, he received the command while at his son’s wedding and immensely left the festivities. The warrior and the battle have been preserved in Marathi Povadas.

This movie ‘Taanaji- The Unsung Warrior’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and is planned to release on November 22, 2019.
