Capcom’s New Project Resistance Is Setting The Bar High With Its Unique Gameplay

Resident Evil is certainly Capcom’s one of the best-selling franchises. This game has brought a revolution to the survival-horror genre and raised the bar high. Among the many great Resident Evil games, the one having strict multiplayer feature hasn’t been noticed.

Capcom has been sticking to their successful gaming formula for a long time now and you can’t really blame them for it. The game follows previous story points and introduces new monsters along with tweaking gameplay elements. They have gained huge success with their latest release Resident Evil 2 (remake). To be in the gaming industry you must always be ready to evolve.

Capcom has recognized this fact and is revolving around their latest game, Project Resistance. Many announcements were made but Capcom’s Project Resistance coming out of the recent Tokyo Game Show  stole the show. The fans got to know more about the new multiplayer feature.

The game is set to have an asymmetrical multiplayer design. Four players will enter a room and to survive they must use their intelligence and collaborate. Each character is designed with some unique features and skills, whether having the ability of melee attacks or the ability to dodge enemy attacks.

The players have to solve puzzles while beating the monsters of the game. It is like a video game version of the Saw movie, where you have to make decisions your quickly in order to survive.

The fifth player will be controlling everything. As per the developers, the fifth player is the Mastermind of this game, who can switch between various cameras to watch the activities of the four players. Based on their activities and strategies, the fifth player can assemble zombies and other monsters. The fifth player can also set traps, weaponize the cameras, and change the environments. It seems like the entire scene is from the movie, A Cabin in the Woods.

The entire concept of the game is pretty engaging, which is rare in the horror-survival genre. There have been games, in which the players have to run away from monstrous threats such as, Friday the 13th: The Video Game and Dead by Daylight.

However, Project Resistance is has taken a completely different direction. Capcom must be appreciated for coming up with something different and also going on with the Resident Evil franchise along, in this modern era.
