Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Starseries I-League Season 8 Final Is On Its Way With Its Day 1 Of Defeats And Conquers

Long-awaited Counter-Strike: Global Offensive StarSeries i-League Season 8 Finals have finally arrived with tremendous anticipation on a worldwide scaled because some eminent teams have participated in it this time. It is a three-day counter-strike fest that is going on with its first-day match that sustained for straight thirteen hours. It is a quite an interesting thing to see marks @OnFireSemmler’s return on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive StarSeries i-League finals after he joined in Overwatch League for Blizzard Entertainment for at least two seasons on a stretch.

The match on this Friday was held between FURIA and Vitality, MIBR and NIP, G2 and fnatic, and Renegades versus Evil Geniuses.

Series one was held between FURIA and Vitality. Furia posted some hours before the match that they would show their power and prove that they were stronger. Indeed this match had to be interesting. It is found that ‘NBK’ was recently withdrawn by Vitality from their active roster, as they were concerned for holding two in-game leaders could cause their spotty performance in the past, resulting in their terrific skill-level one series and bringing on a performance that was Open Division at best.

But choosing ‘shox’ over ‘NBK’ did not really solve the problem as Vitality has been deteriorating from a legendary worthy team to a poor useless team on a worldwide range. Unfortunately, the legendary fragger ‘ZywOo’ could not be of any use when it came to making a winning move for Vitality. It eventually ended up losing the match sooner than it was expected with a score (0-2) .

FURIA used the Mirage map which they previously won (16-5) very easily in spite of ‘ZywOo’ attempts of multiple frags per round. Team Vitality also used Nuke which they lost after giving a hustle free struggle against the opponents (16-9). Vitality staggered to win even after their roster shake-up, so it looks like they are on the other side of the favors and they must do something impactful to be in the game.

Unlike the first half, the second series of the day had witnessed a close competition making it alive again for the spectators. Both teams gave a good play with neck to neck competition. MIBR lost to fnatic’s star-studded roster and NiP’s lean-sweep was defeated against both Evil Geniuses and G2. The global ranking is yet to be decided but for now MIBR at global ranking #14, and NiP at #11.  NiP’s ‘twist’ is well considered in bringing three series-altering clutches.

MIBR showed marvelous skills when they had first map pick and chose for Train, which they became the winner of, after a brilliant and cunning performance of the terrorist side which helped them with eleven points in the first half (16-9) . NiP came forward second time with inferno and won (7-16) it for netting points in the first half of the counter-terrorist side. MIBR finally won in the end with (16-12) after a strong struggle.

Series three was held between G2 and fnatic. Both G2 and fnatic have been the stars of StarSeries i-League in many seasons which lead them to this day with victories against terrific teams like mousesports, NaVi, and NiP.  The match was very compelling with outstanding performances from fnatic’s ‘Brollan’ and ‘flusha’, and G2’s ‘nexa’ and ‘kennyS’, with losing and winning in between.  ‘nexa’ managed to have three separate multi-frags to keep G2 being followed on fnatic. G2 was in an elevated position with their global rank of #13 versus NiP’s #4. The reality is twisted even with G2’s recent growth though their failure.

fnatic selected Overpass for their first match and delivered after a close figure of (11-16) that they secured a place easily with a clean second-half on the terrorist side (3-9) after the first half (8-7). But G2 had Dust saved for them and that is how fnatic and G2 both had a close ending figure (8-7). fnatic won the residual map (12-16).

Series four of the day consisted of Renegades versus Evil Geniuses.

Renegades got to meet the current CS: GO front-liners Evil Geniuses on the very first day of the match of the finals. Though with tough competition, Evil Geniuses won the first two maps which sent Renegades back to the bottom of the finals. Renegades repeatedly failed in this type of important finals. No players finished the series with a net positive kill/death tally. Evil Geniuses had inferno which helped them to win with (5-16). Renegades, on the other hand, selected the map Mirage but lost the match and were unqualified for the finals. This match series will continue will Sunday and we will see finally where these teams stand.
