After a long separation, On Monday Mukesh Ambani stepped in to save his younger brother from prison by clearing his dues of Rs 453 crore that Reliance communication owed Ericsson.  On 20th February Supreme Court ordered that if Anil Ambani fails to pay the dues to Swedish Telecom within four weeks then he would be sent to jail for three months.

Anil Ambani said that he is very much thankful to elder brother Mukesh and Nita Ambani for standing beside him during his hard times. He and his family are very grateful that he has moved beyond the past and are severely touched with this gesture.

However, Mukesh’s verdict may not be driven completely by a wish to bury the split. A short statement which was made on Monday did not confirm whether the payment was a gift or a loan. Some of the Indian reporters concluded that it might be compensation for a deal that has been made between the two which recently collapsed.

Anil Ambani wished to offload his company’s telecom tower and spectrum business to his elder brother’s Reliance Jio for $2.4 billion. This deal hit regulatory hurdles and the resistance from creditors was confirmed lifeless by the two companies on Tuesday.

This is not the first time that the two brothers appeared to make up.  They came together in 2011 at a memorial of their father and their mother and informed the reporters that there is love between the two brothers.

After five years Mukesh involved in a wicked price war in India telecom sector for launching his ultra-cheap Reliance Jio Mobile network in 2016, bringing Anil’s Reliance Communication to its present mess.
