A Yeti Airlines plane has crashed that was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara. This airline majorly flies pilgrims and trekkers from one place to another. A total of 72 people were in that plane, who had experienced the deadly crash. Previously also, there was the same kind of accident. Later government admitted that it was a human error and lack of awareness. In addition to that, in the report, it became known that pilots cut the power by mistake, which led to the accident.

Due to the power cut, the plane crashed suddenly and no one could help the situation in any way. Among the 72 passengers, there were two infants and 15 foreign nationals. Along with that, five Indian nationals were also found in that airline. And unfortunately, no one survived the dreadful airplane crash.

The number of crashes in Yeti Airlines has increased more than ever. But no one is being able to give a constructive reason behind the crash. That is why; no one is being able to find out the cause of the plane crash.

Recently, the report from the Investigation Commission has come and it says ‘The most probable cause of the accident is determined to be the inadvertent movement of both condition levers to the feathered position in flight, which resulted in feathering of both propellers and subsequent loss of thrust, leading to an aerodynamic stall and collision with terrain’.

In addition to that, an aeronautical engineer also a member of the investigating panel, Dipak Prasad Bastola has said that somehow the pilots made a mistake in placing the condition levers and controlling power. They have also mistaken the feathering position and selected the right flap lever. This kind of mistake shouldn’t take place and cause airplane crashes.

Bastola has also said, that due to the mistake, the engines ‘run idle and not produce thrust… But due to its momentum, the aircraft flew for up to 49 seconds before hitting the ground’. On this topic, another member of the investigation commission, Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane said the main reason for this humongous accident was pulling the ‘wrong lever’. He also added ‘Technically, the plane was fine but it seems wrong human input caused it to stall and crash’.

In addition to that, the report says ‘Following the un-intentional feathering of both engine propellers, the flight crew failed to identify the problem and take corrective actions despite the Crew Alerting Panel cautions’. The lack of awareness among the pilots is the reason behind this accident and 72 innocent individuals had to sacrifice their life for it.

A local resident, named Divya Dhakal has given her opinion on the incident and said ‘By the time I was there the crash site was already crowded. There was huge smoke coming from the flames of the plane. And then helicopters came over in no time’.

This year in May, the Tara Air Flight 197, also crashed. Later it came to know that the flight was owned by Yeti Airlines. In that crash, 22 passengers died including the crew members. No one has found out the reason why the accidents are only happening with this same airline. Investigators are keeping a keen eye on this aviation company.
