Alibaba’s Singles’ Day shopping sets a new record for online sales.  This company, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. earned $30.7 in the sales, this Chinese e-commerce on Sunday, exceed the last year’s record of $25.3 billion. However, in the last year Xiaomi, Apple, and Dyson topped the sale.

11/11Global Shopping Festival, otherwise known as Singles’ Day in China is perhaps the World’s largest online shopping extravaganza. Asia’s version of Black Friday was formed in the year 2009 by Alibaba CEO Daniel Zhang to attract the buyers to Alibaba’s shopping platform.

Single’s Day easily competed for the international equivalents like Black Friday and Cyber Monday which is traditionally one of the largest online shopping days in the US. It is the time when consumers congregate to the internet for deals on the very next day after Thanksgiving. If you compare with the last year you will find that Black Friday saw $5.03 billion in online sales.

It is noted that more than 180,000 Chinese and International brands have helped to celebrate the 10th 11/11 shopping extravaganza, which is featured televised entertainments from such names as Cirque du Soleil and Mariah Carey.

Almost three years ago, Jack Ma set out to make this Singles’ Day a worldwide phenomenon by taking the help of the celebrities. In this year, for instance, they choose Mariah Carey to kick start the festivities. The top three non-Chinese Singles’ Day markets last year were Russia, Hong Kong, and the US.  When we talk about this year the top countries selling to China were Japan, The US, and South Korea.
